James “J.T.” Thomas
J.T. is a senior validation associate at Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. where he is responsible for data management and trend analysis for the equipment cleaning validation program. He has held various positions since joining Mylan in 1998, including quality assurance assistant, granulation
operator and inspector.
J.T. is a 2000 graduate of WVU where he received a bachelor’s degree in physical education and athletic coaching education. During his time at WVU, he played linebacker for the football team where he led the team in tackles and was named the 1994 Carquest Bowl’s defensive player of the game. After two successful seasons at WVU, Thomas played linebacker for the Arena Football League’s Albany Firebirds. In 2007, he was inducted into the Minor League Football News Hall of Fame. His son, J.T. III, followed in his father’s footsteps and you will find him tackling players in his role as middle linebacker for the Mountaineers.
While a student at WVU, J.T. was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He has remained active in the life of the University by volunteering his time a number of causes and organizations. In 2005, he helped to establish the Horace and Geraldine Belmear scholarship fund which has raised more than $13,000 to provide financial assistance to minority students. Thomas is also active in the Association’s black alumni constituent group which works to keep graduates engaged and involved in the life of the University through reunion programs, community service and other activities.
J.T and his wife, Rochelle, reside in Morgantown with their four children, J.T. III, a WVU student, Jared, A.J., and Raquel.
